Cute post-pandemic date ideas

Just jumping straight into a list of date ideas with minimal bugets, no alcohol, and any time of the day.

  1. Walking dates
So this became a thing during the pandemic but it’s actually super nice if you put a bit of effort into it. Take it as an opportunity to be a tourist in your own city, map out your favourite spots and then act as a tour guide to your date. If it goes well the second date can be the other person showing you their favourite spots!
Also just a really good way to plan romantic 3/4/5th dates when you remember their favourite places.
  2. $10 in a store
I have always found this really fun. Set yourself a fairly low limit and visit somewhere that sells a wide and cheap variety of items — dollar stores, news agents, thrift shops, I’ve even done this in a chemist. Give yourselves a fairly short time limit, say 10 minutes, and at the end you need to meet at the checkout. Once you’re done, find somewhere to sit down and exchange gifts.
The spending limit means you end up with a collection of weird items, but they’re all cute in a kitsch, weird way, and you end up having some really nice keepsakes. Also a chapstick is always useful.
  3. Book swap
Ask each other a bunch of preference questions about reading habits and then buy each other a book (even better if neither of you have read it and you’re just going off the blurb or cover). Really…
